Viscose

prime-/substandard

This is an artificial fibre with a natural pulp origin mainly from beech and other wood species but may also be made using cotton fibres. Like cotton, viscose is good at absorbing moisture and is therefore gentle on the skin. Bamboo viscose originates from the pulp of the bamboo plant. Its main advantage is sustainability due to bamboo having much faster growth than the other raw materials used. It is also claimed that the fibre is more comfortable to wear and has antibacterial properties. Although the latter has been certified by some producers, we are doubtful about the staple fibre’s antibacterial capability.
